This purebreed, medium to large size dog originates from Germany. Its height can be 21" to 25", Its weight can be from 45 to 70 lb. Its colors can be black, liver, white, black and white, liver and white, and black roan. Its litter size can be of about 7 to 12 puppies. It costs from $600 to $800 US dollars.
German hunters bred this versatil hunting dog around the 1800's, trying to obtain a do-it-all hunter. It can retrieve, point, and it is an excellent swimmer. It can hunt birds, rabbits, raccoons, and deer, among other animals. This dog is a hard worker with great agility and endurance. It was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1930.
